For dancers, showgirls, movement artists, and performers who want bold, expressive imagery
Spotlight Sessions are my premium performer photoshoots: a fluid, collaborative creative experience built around you.
Instead of choosing between rigid packages, everything you need now lives in one beautifully flexible session that adapts to your energy, mood, and goals on the day.
It’s the same storytelling and colour-rich style I’m known for, wrapped in a more intentional, more personalised experience – and a limited number of spaces each month so I can give every performer the creative attention and cinematic editing they deserve.

What's included in every Spotlight Session?
Spotlight Vibe Mapping
A quick pre-session questionnaire that helps me understand your energy, confidence level, aesthetic preferences, and the kind of character or mood you want to explore.
This shapes how I prepare and ensures the session feels aligned with who you are today.
Spotlight Welcome Pack
You’ll receive a curated welcome PDF with:
• Wardrobe and styling tips
• Hair/makeup notes
• What to expect on the day
• A simple posing cheat sheet designed specifically for performers
• Suggestions for mood, character, and movement
It’s everything you need to feel relaxed and prepared – even if it’s your first session.
Convenient Creative Direction chats
Most performers prefer to chat casually and build ideas in their own time.
We’ll swap inspiration, lighting and posing ideas, or character concepts in DMs before the shoot so that when you arrive, we already have a shared vision.
A Fluid, Positive Shoot That Evolves With You
We don’t follow rigid setups or blocks. We let the creative energy flow.
If inspiration strikes, we pivot.
If your confidence skyrockets halfway through, we lean into it.
If your concept evolves, we adapt the session to match.
This is a collaboration, not a checklist.
Spotlight Cinematic Finish
Every selected image receives my signature performer edit: bold colour or classic B&W, rich tonal depth, and clean, confident retouching designed to enhance your presence without changing who you are.
Limited Spots Each Month
To keep Spotlight Sessions personal and high-quality, I only open a limited number each month in Brisbane.
This ensures I can give every performer the creative attention and editing detail they deserve.
Are the Spotlight Sessions right for you?
Spotlight Sessions are created for performers who want bold, expressive portraits with movement, character, and confidence. They’re ideal for:
Dancers — from contemporary and jazz to heels, showgirl, burlesque, and exotic styles
Performers and movement artists who want imagery with attitude, presence, and story
Models exploring character-driven or creative portraiture
Adult entertainers and showgirls wanting elevated, artistic imagery
Actors who want expressive, personality-forward portraits (not full branding)
If you want bold colour, movement, femininity, personality, and power in your images — this is the session built for you.
If you’re after polished poster-ready images with heavier Photoshop or campaign-specific requirements, my Branding Sessions are still the best fit.
I like how this sounds! Tell me how this all works.
Spotlight sessions can be booked as 2- or 3-hour sessions – that means we have time to ease into the session, and we can work through a bunch of different looks. I’ll send you an invoice with a deposit that locks in your session, with the rest due on the day. Dancer sessions are on weekends by appointment only.
Before the shoot, I’ll send you a pre-shoot survey, we’ll chat about what you like and what your goals are for your session. My job is to figure out the styles and lighting that you respond to, based on things of mine you like, or other inspo that you send me.
We shoot at a gorgeous air-conditioned studio in Sunnybank Hills, with easy street parking. When you arrive, you can hang out in the waiting area, or come in to the studio for makeup touchups or to stretch.
When we get started, we’ll look at the outfits you’ve brought, and review the plan. If you’re getting headshots, we’ll start with those while your hair and makeup are still fresh, then move on. If you’re doing something like wet-hair looks, we’ll save those for the end. Based on the outfits that you’ve brought and the lighting and composition styles you like, we’ll move through outfits one at a time, and probably use a few different lighting setups for each look. We’ll use every minute to shoot incredible stuff.
While we’re shooting, you can see the images in real time on an ipad. We also have a full-length mirror we can place just next to the shooting position so you can see yourself and adjust poses.
I’ll have a female assistant with me on the day. We also super recommend that you bring a friend, to be your cheerleader, adjust straps, and remind you of the cool poses and looks you’ve spaced on!
Side Note: If you ever work with a photographer you don’t know and they discourage you from bringing a friend, that’s a red flag. Always look after yourself.
We often shoot behind-the-scenes video, and post and tag everyone.
Biggest thing is – it’s fun! You’ll definitely have your goofy moments, there will be shots that don’t quite work, I will absolutely make some lame jokes. But the whole way along, we’ll work together, I’ll guide you with instructions, and we will make FRIGGING FANTASTIC images. 100% you’ll be a little nervous when you get there, and that will evaporate, I promise. And by the end, you’ll feel like you absolutely OWNED it.
Once we wrap up and you’re outta there, I’ll send you a proof gallery within a day or two for you to make your selections. You let me know when you’ve made your choices, and I’ll edit and retouch them and send them your way. I usually allow a week for edits once you’ve made your selections.
What do clients say about our sessions?
Here are some words from clients about their experiences coming in to the studio for our sessions.
“Kris is not only an incredibly talented photographer, he is also a safe and comfortable presence in the studio! Kris’ friendliness and collaborative nature helped me ease into our session and produce photography magic! He was very communicative prior to the day, happy to answer my many curious questions and work together to pinpoint what I wanted to get out of the session. The final images were beyond my wildest dreams and are elevated by the memory of an amazing day. I highly recommend Kris, particularly if you’re someone who needs a little extra support through nerves and uncertainty!”
–Jemma @jemma.crowhurst
“I’d seen Kris’s work and we’d done a few projects together, but I never really expected how much I’d get out of my session. I had some ideas and he was so keen to roll with them; we improvised a bit but he also made sure I got the shots I really wanted and had prepped for too. Since my session included nudity we had good chats about comfort and having my Buddy there was so much fun too. Extra ideas and hands for props! Absolutely looking forward to being able to shoot with Kris again, and actually blown away by the experience. Highly recommend.”

“Can’t express enough just how much I love our sessions together! You always manage to bring ideas & visions to life every single time! Forever grateful! Best in the business 🤩😍✨🥹“
