Live Production Photography
Production photography that supports marketing, publicity, and archival needs, delivered with minimal disruption to your rehearsal or performance process.
Our production photography service captures key moments from your show – both the major set-pieces and the quieter, character-driven beats – providing images that support marketing, publicity, and long-term archival needs.
Because live performance doesn’t pause for photography, effective production images rely on anticipation – understanding the rhythm of a show so that key moments and transitions are captured cleanly, without disruption, and with the emotional intent of the scene intact.
Our production photography is typically captured during a full tech or dress rehearsal, allowing access to a range of vantage points while minimising disruption to the performance. Where images are captured during a live performance, we work with you in advance to establish appropriate positioning and movement within the space.
We operate under the guidance of the production team, FOH, and venue staff, and are experienced in working within access, safety, and movement constraints specific to each venue.
In addition to performance imagery, we can capture rehearsals, as well as pre- and post-show backstage moments. These images – often delivered in black and white – are well suited to social media, season announcements, and campaign teasers, offering valuable storytelling material beyond the stage.
Deliverables are structured to include a curated set of hero images suitable for primary marketing use, a broader selection optimised for social and digital platforms, and a complete archive-ready set of production stills.
Image volumes typically average 50–80 images per hour of production, depending on lighting conditions and the visual complexity of the show. Final images are delivered within three business days of the session, with expedited turnaround available where required.
Trusted by theatre companies, producers, and arts organisations including Brisbane Arts Theatre, PIP Theatre, Improv Queensland, Swich Up Productions, Observatory Theatre, Act/React and others across Brisbane.
Where useful, cast and crew headshots and a full cast image can be efficiently integrated into the production schedule. Headshots are typically photographed prior to rehearsal, allowing approximately five minutes per participant, with time allocated to reset before the rehearsal begins.
Where appropriate, we also capture discreet behind-the-scenes stills of cast and crew before and after the show. These images add depth to a production’s visual story and work well as social media teasers and supporting content.
Our approach is collaborative and unobtrusive – we work quietly, respect the rhythms of live performance, and understand that the work exists to serve the production, not the photographer.
